Meet Shannon

Shannon John (Co-Director)
RN, RPT, ATRIC, CEAS, CLWT, Pelvic Health Therapist

Shannon is a Registered Nurse who graduated from the College of Science Technology and Applied
Arts of Trinidad and Tobago in 2010. She continued her education at the University of the West
Indies Mona Campus where she received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 2015.
Since graduating she has worked in a variety of clinical settings including pediatrics, neuro,
cardiovascular, orthopedic and obstetrics. She has gained experience from both the public health
system and private clinic where patients are sometimes seen in their home setting. In 2019 she
received her certification in Aquatic therapy from the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute in Miami
Florida. She went on to become an Ergonomic Assessment Specialist in 2020, which afforded her the
opportunity to work with local companies to provide ergonomic consultation and follow-up
workshops to educate workers about safe ergonomic practices. Shannon is dedicated to continuing
her education and evolving her skills, she consistently thrives to evolve her practice by merging the
current evidence based literature with in a holistic approach. She is passionate about her work and
takes pride in connecting with her patients as they embark on their healing journey. In her journey
as a physiotherapist she saw the need for lymphedema management for oncology patients who had
undergone mastectomy surgery, this led her to undertake a certification in Lymphedema and
Wound Therapy in 2021. She is excited to dive into this neglected field to improve the functionality
of her patients and their overall quality of life. Ms. John is currently pursuing a Clinical DPT (Doctor
of Physical Therapy) in pelvic health.
